This is the first installment of my cowgirl mermaid series, where I have fun combining two random obsessions: mermaids and cowboys/cowgirls! The composition for this one has a theatrical stage feel to it. It's as if they just finished a musical number or they're about to break out into song upon the arrival of the Sheriff Harborgast character.

Cassie wants to be just like her dad, Walt Moonwaltz, the famous shark rider. She often practices her shark riding skills on Shurple the manatee, but he'd much rather munch on seaweed. This isn't the first time Sadie's witnessed this unsuccessful attempt.

Cassie decides it's finally time to give it a shot. How could this possibly be dangerous? If her father can do it, then she's bound to be a natural at shark riding, too, right? Luckily Sadie's there with her lasso in hand!
